Stephen Brown

Immigration Attorney

Stephen (Steve) Brown has exclusively practiced immigration law throughout his legal career. He has experience in both the Seattle and Tacoma (detained) Immigration Courts, having successfully represented clients in their cases of asylum, torture protection, fraud waivers, adjustment of status, and extreme hardship.

Steve lived along the U.S./Mexico border for two years where he became fluent in Spanish and was enveloped in the Hispanic culture. Steve also studied law in Guatemala and was a legal intern with a law firm in Guatemala. These experiences deepened his connection to the Hispanic and immigrant communities which allows him to better understand his clients as they navigate the long and complex immigration process. In addition to the Immigration Courts, Steve has successfully represented clients in family-based visa cases with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Seattle and Yakima, WA, and in U.S. Embassies throughout the world, including petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and medical waivers. Steve received his B.A. in Spanish from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT and his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law. Steve is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has participated in El Centro De La Raza Free Legal Clinic and volunteered with Casa Latina in Seattle. Steve is currently contracted with the Consulate of Guatemala in Seattle to provide legal services for Guatemalan citizens throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska, including consultations in the consulate office and community events throughout the Northwest. Recently, Steve was also contracted with the Salvadoran Consulate in Seattle to provide legal services and orientation to Salvadoran citizens throughout the Northwest.

Ricardo Razo

Immigration Manager

Richard Razo manages our immigration department. He brings close to a decade of extensive legal experience in immigration law. He is currently a second-year undergraduate student at Eastern Kentucky University, majoring in legal studies.

As the son of immigrants, Richard understands the struggles that immigrants face when they come to America. For the past 10 years he has heard them from his clients, and has also seen them first hand when he witnessed his parents’ difficult exertions. He is passionate about immigration law and aspires to go to law school in the future. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara and two children, Rylan and Scarlett.

Steven Ritchie

Office Manager

Steven is one of our Office Managers. He began his career with Ritchie-Reiersen Law March of 2016 and currently oversees office finance, settlement distribution, overall operations and assists with the negotiation process.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Angela and their 3 children, Emily, Julia & Joshua with a 4th on its way. He also enjoys spending time outdoors from working in his yard and garden to hunting and fishing. Among his many accomplishments he has completed his bachelor’s program in Business Management and served a 2-Year mission for his church in Brazil. He continues to speak Portuguese fluently and is learning to speak Spanish (very slowly).. His favorite part of his job is being able to assist clients and see their progress towards recovery as he and his team work to get them proper resolution for their injury claims.

Ben Goodey

Associate Attorney

Ben is the newest addition to our legal team.  Following graduation from Gonzaga University School of Law, he began and continues to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M) in taxation at the University of Washington School of Law.

His practice experience includes personal injury, premises liability, and criminal law with experience as both a defense and prosecuting attorney. Raised in the Tri-Cities, Ben graduated from Hanford High School.  He served a two-year mission in Donetsk, Ukraine, after which he finished the undergraduate study in New Mexico.  He is happy to be back in the Columbia Basin and enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, anything outdoors, and all things baseball. 

Dana Gailan

Associate Attorney

Dana was born and raised in Washington State.  After graduating from Aberdeen High School, he served a two-year mission in Santiago, the Dominican Republic where he learned Spanish.

He has made the Yakima Valley home since 2010.  While attending Texas Tech School of Law, Dana worked as a judicial extern for Chief Justice Brian Quinn of the Seventh Court of Appeal in Texas, and a judicial clerk for the Honorable Ruben Reyes of the 72nd District Court of Texas.  In addition to being a licensed attorney, Dana is a registered nurse and has worked in the Emergency Department.  Outside of work, Dana enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelli, and their two children, Clark and Charlotte.

Valorie is newer to the Tri-Cities, moving here in 2013 from Oregon. She is a native of Colorado and for the last 13 years has enjoyed the adventures of moving every few years.

Stormie has been in the service industry for ten years which has helped her grow into a passionate and understanding individual. She has an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies from Tacoma Community College, with honors from Phi Theta Kappa.
